Party Hat Pride

Party Hat invites you to join us in celebrating Pride with a showcase of queer makers and artists within our community on Thursday, June 7th from 5-9 in conjunction with Pioneer Square's First Thursday Art Walk.

This multifaceted event has several features including live screen printing, a queer pop up shop, and a visual art show by Alyssa Anne.

Live Screen Printing:
Bring your own tee (or sweatshirt, or hanky, or beyond) to be emblazoned with an original design by artists Ashley Nieves, Alyssa Anne, Andrew Lamb Schultz, or Andrea Marcos. Designs to be posted a week before the event!

Blank shirts will be available for purchase for $10 while supplies last. Printing fees are sliding scale $5-20 and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Preorders will be available for those unable to attend.

Queer Pop Up:
Shop the art and accessories of Madeline Franks, vintage bounty of Kim Selling, and art and screen prints of Ashley Nieves for one night only!

Visual Art:

Seattle-based artist Alyssa Anne will be showing an array of recent work.

Alyssa Anne is a self and community-taught artist whose creations are influenced by her daily social work and nightly dreams. As a child, she fell in love with portraits of all mediums by watching her grandmother paint and draw people in her Brooklyn studio. On canvas, her love for portraits and realism is combined with the surreal worlds that exist within her imagination. She uses a mix of acrylic paint, ink, and paper cut outs to contrast black and white sketches on top of colorful backgrounds. Inspired by space and queerness, Alyssa’s work aims to reclaim the body in a world that tries to dictate how our bodies should be, and she uses her experience with anxiety and depression to explore the enmeshed experiences of pain and beauty within our existence.

Accessibility:
Party Hat is located on the ground floor of the TK Art Studios. There are no steps. The hallway and gallery space are wheelchair accessible. The space is not explicitly scent free, but generally low scent.
